(PRESS RELEASE) FRANKFURT, 19-Sep-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — Deutsche Bank has named Raffael Gasser as the new Head of Wealth Management & Private Banking in Germany, a key leadership role in which he will oversee services for affluent, high-net-worth, and ultra-high-net-worth clients in the bank’s home market. Gasser will officially take on the position starting November 1, 2024, and will join the Private Bank Executive Council. He will report directly to Claudio de Sanctis, the Deutsche Bank Management Board Member in charge of the Private Bank.

Claudio de Sanctis praised Gasser’s ability to integrate business areas and adapt services to client needs, stating, “Raffael’s extensive experience in the German market, coupled with his expertise in aligning business strategies with client demand, makes him the ideal leader to take our Wealth Management and Private Banking businesses into the next growth phase. We are well-positioned as the market leader for affluent and wealthy clients in Germany, and I look forward to working with him to deepen the integration of Private Banking and Wealth Management.”

Gasser joins Deutsche Bank from UBS in Zurich, where he managed the Northern European wealth business. Before that, he spent 14 years at Credit Suisse, holding senior positions including membership on the Management Committee of Global Wealth Management and leading Private Banking International. His prior experience also includes roles as CEO of Credit Suisse Luxembourg, where he was responsible for various European markets, and early career stints at Goldman Sachs and McKinsey & Company.

Commenting on his new role, Gasser said, “Leading Deutsche Bank’s Wealth Management and Private Banking operations in its home market is a unique and exciting opportunity. I believe we can continue to grow our leadership position by combining exceptional personal advice with digital tools and data-driven insights. The broader Global Hausbank offering, including connections to the Corporate and Investment Banks, will also be a key asset, particularly for family-owned businesses.”

Gasser will relocate to Frankfurt with his family and will collaborate closely with Dominik Hennen, Head of Personal Banking, and Stefanie Rühl-Hoffmann, interim Head of Wealth Management for ultra-high-net-worth individuals. Hennen will temporarily oversee Private Banking until Gasser’s arrival.
