Primark Adds Global Finance Leadership Experience With Appointment of Lucy Slinger as Chief Financial Officer

(IN BRIEF) Primark has appointed Lucy Slinger as Chief Financial Officer, adding further senior finance experience to CEO Eoin Tonge’s leadership team as the retailer continues its international expansion and prepares to become a standalone entity. Slinger joins from Ingka Group, the IKEA franchisee operating across 32 countries, where she served as Deputy CFO. She previously spent more than two decades at Shell in senior finance leadership roles, including financial reporting, corporate finance, group planning and appraisal, and as CFO of the Global Aviation business. (PRESS RELEASE) LONDON, 11-Jun-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Primark has appointed Lucy Slinger as Chief Financial Officer, strengthening its senior leadership team as the fashion retailer continues to expand internationally and prepares for its future as a standalone business.

Slinger joins Primark from Ingka Group, the largest IKEA franchisee, where she served as Deputy Chief Financial Officer. Ingka Group operates across 32 countries, giving her significant experience in finance leadership within a major international consumer and retail business.

Before joining Ingka Group, Slinger spent more than two decades at Shell, where she held a series of senior finance positions across the global energy company. Her roles included leadership responsibilities in financial reporting, corporate finance, group planning and appraisal, as well as serving as Chief Financial Officer of Shell’s Global Aviation business.

Primark said Slinger brings extensive experience in finance transformation, operational and financial performance management, strategic capital allocation and governance across complex international businesses and supply chains. Her appointment comes at a key stage for Primark as the company accelerates its long-term growth strategy and prepares to operate as a standalone entity.

As Chief Financial Officer, Slinger will play a central role in supporting Primark’s financial discipline, investment priorities and operational performance as the business continues to develop its international footprint. Her appointment also follows the March announcement of Filip Ekvall as Chief Commercial Officer, further expanding the leadership team under Primark Chief Executive Eoin Tonge.

Eoin Tonge said he is pleased to welcome Slinger to Primark at an important moment for the business. He said her financial expertise from large global organisations, along with her experience in disciplined investment and operational performance, will be valuable as Primark advances its growth strategy and prepares for a standalone future.

Slinger said she is excited to join Primark at a pivotal stage in its development. She described Primark as a distinctive business with strong growth ambitions and a clear customer proposition built around making fashion accessible while continuing to focus on quality and sustainability.

She added that she looks forward to working with Tonge and colleagues across the business as Primark continues to grow internationally and invest for the future.
