Voith Paper Receives Order to Modernize PM 1 at Matías Gomá Tomás in Spain

The rebuild, which is scheduled to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2025, aims to improve paper quality and increase production capacity by 10%. Key upgrades include the installation of the latest Voith MasterJet 4Tec headbox, DuoShake DG250, and an enhanced approach flow system. (PRESS RELEASE) LA RIBA,/HEIDENHEIM, 29-Apr-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Voith Paper has received an order from Matías Gomá Tomás to modernize their PM 1 at the company’s La Riba facility in Spain. The rebuild is aimed at improving paper quality and increasing the production capacity of their 100% recycled containerboard production line. After the rebuild, the production capacity is expected to grow from 100,000 tons per year to 110,000 tons, representing a 10% increase in capacity.

The modernization will include an upgrade to the approach flow system, the latest Voith MasterJet 4Tec headbox, and a DuoShake DG250. The new MasterJet 4Tec will enhance key areas such as formation, pulsation damping, operating convenience, and energy efficiency. The rebuild also includes the installation of the EdgeMaster, an upgrade to the existing cleaning and screening system with the InduraClean cleaner stage, IntegraGuard screen, and ComMix static mixer.

The rebuilt PM 1 will benefit from a high-tech upgrade that will significantly reduce maintenance needs while improving process efficiency and product quality. The improvements, including real-time data monitoring, trend analysis, and cloud connectivity provided by DuoShake DG250, will ensure better runability and reduced downtime.
