TUM Science and Study Center Raitenhaslach Thrives with New Director and Record Year

(PRESS RELEASE) MUNICH, 8-Jul-2023 — /EuropaWire/ — The TUM Science and Study Center Raitenhaslach is set for the future with new general management. Educational researcher and lecturer Elina Weinmann is the new head of the international conference and science center at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) Burghausen site.

Weinmann plans to further expand the importance of the science center: “In addition to its role as a TUM conference, the Science and Study Center Raitenhaslach stands out particularly because of the widely varied range of services it offers. In close collaboration with the city of Burghausen, TUM provides space for international encounters, academic dialog, cultural education and creative expression.”

200 events have already been planned for the current year. “Because of the very high demand, the Science and Study Center is already completely booked out for 2023. This is a record year. Thanks to the hard work and commitment of our team, our planning is already focusing on 2025,” said Weinmann.

City of Burghausen looks forward to cooperation

TUM President Prof. Thomas F. TUM Chancellor Albert Berger, who has worked hard personally on behalf of Raitenhaslach for years, is also looking forward to continuing and further expanding the already very successful work of the first years together with the new Managing Director and the entire TUM Raitenhaslach team.

Experience in academic education

A native of Lower Bavaria, Weinmann studied Educational Sciences at Freie Universität Berlin as well as Educational Science and Social Sciences at Humboldt University of Berlin. The new Managing Director brings a diverse range of valuable experience in academic education to her new position, including activities at the University of Regensburg Center for University and Scientific Didactics and many years as an independent lecturer.

“My plans and skill set perfectly complement our everyday business”. The 34-year-old has relocated to the nearby district of Altötting for her new job. “I’m very pleased to be able to contribute to the successful future of the TUM Science and Study Center Raitenhaslach.”
