trinamiX introduces biometric sensing, blood alcohol detection, and keyless B-pillar access at IAA Mobility 2025

(IN BRIEF) trinamiX GmbH will present its next-generation health, safety, and access innovations for vehicles at IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich. The company will demonstrate its Invisible Biometric Sensing Display, which can monitor vital signs and detect stress or medical emergencies, along with a miniaturized non-invasive blood alcohol detection system that helps meet upcoming regulatory requirements. In partnership with WITTE Automotive, trinamiX will also unveil a B-pillar face authentication access solution integrated into a concept car, eliminating handles and enabling automatic entry for registered users. These technologies reflect trinamiX’s commitment to improving automotive safety, security, and comfort through advanced sensing solutions.

(PRESS RELEASE) LUDWIGSHAFEN, 21-Aug-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — trinamiX GmbH, a pioneer in biometric imaging and mobile spectroscopy technologies, will showcase its latest health and safety innovations for the automotive industry at IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich. The company will highlight its Invisible Biometric Sensing Display, a patented solution powered by Beam Profile Analysis, which enables continuous monitoring of vital signs and biometrics inside vehicles. The system also integrates a non-invasive blood alcohol detection feature, addressing upcoming regulatory requirements while enhancing driver and passenger safety.

Using an eye-safe laser dot projector and near-infrared camera, the monitoring system can detect vital signs such as heart rate without any physical contact. With AI-based analysis, the technology is able to recognize stressful situations or potential health emergencies in real time, triggering safety features to protect both occupants and other road users. By equipping vehicles with a wide-field 5 MP camera, the system can monitor both driver and front-seat passenger simultaneously, delivering broad coverage for improved in-vehicle safety.

In parallel, trinamiX will debut its miniaturized near-infrared spectroscopy solution for blood alcohol detection. This technology non-invasively measures ethanol levels in the bloodstream by analyzing light reflections from tissue under the skin, enabling fast, reliable checks before and during vehicle operation. Compact in design, it integrates seamlessly into car interiors and allows drivers to confirm sobriety at the touch of a button. Visitors to IAA will be able to test a simulation of the system at trinamiX’s booth.

Another highlight is trinamiX’s collaboration with WITTE Automotive, which has integrated a frictionless B-pillar vehicle access solution with embedded Face Authentication into a concept car. The system replaces traditional handles, unlocking and opening doors automatically when a verified driver or passenger approaches, offering both enhanced security and new vehicle design flexibility. This marks the first live demonstration of trinamiX Face Authentication technology applied to the B-pillar of a vehicle.

Wilfried Hermes, Director Automotive and Consumer Electronics North America and Europe at trinamiX, said:
“We are excited to present our health, safety, and access solutions at IAA Mobility. By combining biometric sensing, spectroscopy, and face authentication, we aim to redefine how vehicles protect, monitor, and connect with their occupants, creating safer and more comfortable journeys.”

trinamiX will be present at the European High-Tech Pavilion in hall A1, booth #C 10/30, while the WITTE Automotive concept car with the integrated B-pillar solution can be experienced at the outdoor area A2-3, booth #A2320.
