SunMind Expands Renewable Energy Reach with SunWave Subsidiary

(IN BRIEF) SunMind, a subsidiary of VINCI Concessions specializing in renewable electricity production through photovoltaic power plants since 2022, is expanding its scope. With a focus on large-scale projects in new markets globally and supporting the solarization of VINCI Concessions’ mobility infrastructure, SunMind is set to become a major player in photovoltaic energy production worldwide. Additionally, the newly formed SunWave subsidiary targets decentralized projects in France, particularly focusing on rooftops and shaded areas. This expansion aligns with SunMind’s mission to offer turnkey solutions for decarbonization and land potential valorization, supporting companies, local authorities, and mobility infrastructures in their sustainability endeavors. With over 1.2 GWp potential identified by 2030 and projects underway across Europe, SunMind is poised for significant growth in the renewable energy sector.

(PRESS RELEASE) NANTERRE, 5-Apr-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — A subsidiary of VINCI Concessions, an international player in transport infrastructure and services, SunMind specializes in the development, design, financing, construction and operation of photovoltaic projects. SunMind offers turnkey solutions to its customers, companies and local authorities, and supports them in their projects to decarbonize and valorize their building and land potential.

With a potential of over 1.2 GWp already identified by 2030, SunMind will also support the solarization of mobility infrastructures operated by VINCI Concessions.

SunMind also aims to become a key player in photovoltaic energy production worldwide. Already present in France and Portugal since 2022, SunMind opened an office in Sweden in 2023, one of the most representative countries in Europe for direct energy sales.

For example, SunMind operates through VINCI Concessions infrastructures:

  • Portugal’s first airport solar power plant in Faro, with a capacity of 3MWp,
  • The development of a 20MWp solar power plant at Lyon-Saint Exupéry airport, in partnership with Neoen.
  • More than 425 MWp of projects under development in France and several other European countries.

To develop more specifically decentralized solar projects in France, mainly on rooftops and in shaded areas, SunMind creates SunWave, a subsidiary made up of experts in solar energy, data and real estate.

SunWave supports three types of customer: real estate, industry and local authorities.
