SEB Tops Prospera’s 2023 Institutional Banking Survey for Third Consecutive Year

(IN BRIEF) In the Prospera Institutional Banking 2023 survey, SEB has once again secured its position as the best bank in the Nordic region for the third consecutive year. The bank ranks first overall, as well as in Sweden and Norway, while also making significant strides in Finland and Denmark. The survey, based on feedback from 192 financial institutions in the Nordic countries, assessed banking relationships in ten categories, with SEB earning top marks across the board. This recognition underscores SEB’s commitment to customer-centric services and its strengthened Nordic focus, making it a formidable player in the region’s financial landscape.

(PRESS RELEASE) STOCKHOLM, 25-Jan-2024— /EuropaWire/ — For the third year in a row, SEB has been ranked as the best bank by Nordic Financial Institutions in Prospera’s Institutional Banking 2023 survey. SEB is ranked number one overall, as well as in Sweden and Norway and is also strengthening its position in Finland and Denmark.

The survey is based on interviews with 192 asset managers, insurance companies, banks, and hedge funds in the Nordic countries. They were asked to rank their banking relationships in ten different categories, which were then weighed together for an Overall Performance score.

SEB is ranked top overall in the Nordics, but also number one among both the larger institutions (Tier 1) and the smaller ones. (Tier 2). This is an improvement compared to last year when SEB was ranked second in Tier 1.

Number one across the board

We are good at different things and by working closer across national borders we become even stronger. I think the clients perceive us as a true Nordic bank, says Adam Gavel, head of Nordic Institutions Coverage within Institutional Banking.

Looking at the various sub-areas, SEB earned top scores one in all ten categories. These include personal contacts, understanding of client’s banking needs, industry knowledge, financial competence, service mindedness, coordinated offer and access to specialists, strategic advice and customised solutions, proactivity, relevant focus, and sustainability.

Forward in all markets

As for the various markets, SEB consolidates its solid leadership position in Sweden and widens the gap to the second place. In Norway, SEB rises from second to first place. In Finland and Denmark too, SEB is moving forward and closing the gap to the local leaders.
