(PRESS RELEASE) MADRID, 7-Jan-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Eni S.p.A. (BIT: ENI), announces that Plenitude, a renowned Italian energy company specializing in 100% renewable energy production, energy sales, services, and an expansive electric vehicle charging network, has significantly expanded its renewable energy presence in Spain, more than doubling its installed capacity from 2023. The company now boasts nearly 950 MW of renewable projects, including wind and photovoltaic energy, marking a major milestone in its growth strategy.

One of the key achievements is the completion of the 150 MW Caparacena project in Granada, which includes three photovoltaic plants, each contributing almost 50 MW. The project is connected to Spain’s national grid via a newly constructed 400 kV substation, along with an additional 200 kV substation and shared transmission line. Additionally, the company has completed several other solar plants totaling nearly 250 MW, located in the Renopool parks in Extremadura and the Guillena park in Andalusia.

These developments are part of Plenitude’s broader strategy, contributing to the company’s global target of 4 GW of installed renewable capacity by 2024. “In 2024, Plenitude has achieved remarkable organic growth in Spain, completing several renewable energy projects made possible by our strong local relationships,” said Mariangiola Mollicone, Head of Western Europe Renewables and Managing Director of Plenitude in Spain. “Spain is a crucial market for us, and we aim to make a positive impact on both the economy and the communities that host us.”

Looking ahead, Plenitude’s Spanish operations continue to expand, with nearly 820 MW of additional renewable projects currently under construction, set to be completed between 2025 and 2026. This growth is part of the company’s long-term renewable strategy for Spain and its broader global renewable business.

Plenitude, a subsidiary of Eni, operates in over 15 countries and integrates the production of renewable electricity with the sale of energy and energy solutions to 10 million European customers. By 2027, the company aims to double its renewable capacity to 8 GW globally.
