Neste MY Renewable Diesel, made from 100% renewable materials, can reduce emissions by up to 90% over its lifecycle compared to fossil diesel. The fuel is compatible with all diesel engines, enabling businesses to reduce emissions without investing in new vehicles. The partnership supports the growing demand for renewable diesel in Italy and across Europe.

(PRESS RELEASE) ESPOO, 10-Jan-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Neste has joined forces with Italian fuel distributor Firmin to introduce Neste MY Renewable Diesel™ to the Italian market, marking the fuel’s debut in the country. Available from January 2025, Neste MY Renewable Diesel (also known as HVO100) is designed to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the transport sector, offering a sustainable alternative to traditional diesel.

Per Emanuelson, Head of Commercial EMEA at Neste’s Renewable Products business area, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration: “We are excited to partner with Firmin to bring Neste MY Renewable Diesel to Italy. This partnership is a significant step in expanding Neste’s presence in a market where the demand for renewable diesel is growing as a solution for decarbonizing transportation. It enhances the availability of sustainable transport options throughout Europe.”

Nicola and Manuel Minzocchi, CEOs of Firmin, also shared their excitement: “The launch of Neste MY Renewable Diesel in Italy, through our collaboration with Neste, represents a step forward for sustainable road transportation. This will enable companies to shift from fossil diesel to renewable alternatives, helping to drive environmental progress.”

While numerous Italian logistics firms, public fleets, and large fleet operators are transitioning to lower-emission fuels, much of the country’s road transport continues to rely on fossil diesel. Neste MY Renewable Diesel offers a solution that allows businesses to significantly cut their greenhouse gas emissions without the need to invest in new vehicles or make modifications to existing fleets. The renewable diesel is compatible with all diesel engines, providing an accessible way for companies to reduce their environmental impact.

Made from 100% renewable raw materials, primarily waste oils and fats, Neste MY Renewable Diesel can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 90%* compared to fossil diesel over its lifecycle, making it an effective tool for reducing carbon footprints across Italy’s transport sector.

*Emissions reduction varies by region and depends on specific methodologies, such as the EU RED II for Europe and the California LCFS for the United States, as well as the raw material mix used in production.
