(PRESS RELEASE) COPENHAGEN, 4-Nov-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — A.P. Moller – Maersk has launched its first bonded warehouse in Vietnam, located at SLP Park in Nam Dinh Vu Industrial Park, Hai Phong province. This facility, managed by Maersk Contract Logistics, marks a significant step in Maersk’s expansion in Northern Vietnam, a region seeing rising demand for import-export solutions. The opening was attended by Danish Embassy Commercial Counsellor Lasse Pedersen Hjortshøj, reflecting international support for Vietnam’s growing logistics industry.

Strategically situated in the Hai Phong seaport area, the warehouse strengthens Maersk’s logistics network by connecting with its existing fulfillment center and the upcoming Lach Huyen port terminal. This setup enhances storage options, streamlines customer supply chains, and promotes faster, duty-free processing of goods. The facility features modern inventory control technology, including advanced racking, sorting, and barcode systems, while also prioritizing energy efficiency with natural lighting, LED systems, and motion sensors.

Amazon Vietnam will be the warehouse’s first major customer, benefiting from bonded warehousing, customs processing, and domestic logistics services through Maersk. Kevin Burrell, Maersk’s Area Managing Director for Mekong, noted that operating its own bonded warehouse allows Maersk to enhance service quality and cost controls for clients like Amazon.

Partnering with SLP, a leading logistics developer in Southeast Asia, Maersk reinforces its commitment to providing comprehensive logistics solutions. SLP COO Edwin Chee emphasized that this collaboration reflects both companies’ dedication to advancing logistics standards in Vietnam.
