LAB Entreprenør to Revamp Historic Bergen Building with NOK 131 Million Rehabilitation Project

(IN BRIEF) LAB Entreprenør, part of AF Gruppen, has signed a contract with Marken 37 AS for the rehabilitation of a historic commercial building in Bergen’s city center. The NOK 131 million turnkey project involves upgrading 2,950 square meters of office space, demolishing parts of the structure, and adding a new glass atrium. The building, which dates back to 1885, will also feature a restaurant with outdoor seating. The project is set to begin in the first quarter of 2025 and is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2026, pending a signed tenant agreement for the office space.

(PRESS RELEASE) OSLO, 6-Jan-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — LAB Entreprenør, a subsidiary of AF Gruppen, has secured a contract with Marken 37 AS (EGD Property AS) for the rehabilitation of a commercial building located in the heart of Bergen city center. Valued at NOK 131 million, excluding VAT, the turnkey project will focus on transforming approximately 2,950 square meters of gross floor area. The work will include interior renovations, demolition, the creation of a new glass atrium, and some outdoor improvements. The office spaces within the building will be upgraded to meet modern standards, creating high-quality facilities designed to accommodate a large tenant. Additionally, plans are in place for a restaurant with an outdoor seating area facing the sun on the ground floor.

This historic building, dating back to 1885, enjoys a prime location in the Marken area of Bergen, directly across from the Bergen train station and the public transport terminal. The rehabilitation project is scheduled to commence in the first quarter of 2025 and is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2026. However, the project’s initiation is contingent upon securing a signed agreement with a tenant for the office space.
