Infront plans to introduce Videocites’ technology and services to current and future rights partners including content protection, media monitoring and content management.
The investment in Videocites was led by the newly introduced division within Infront’s group, Infront Lab. The unit is tasked to explore opportunities for smart solutions to challenges clients and partners face in an agile and efficient manner.
Videocites has developed a unique fingerprinting technology that relies on visual properties within videos in order to immediately track all copies of live, on-demand and promotional content across all channels. Thus, content owners gain a deeper insight into consumer behaviour as compared to traditional analytics, helping them to better understand their audience and influencers.
Furthermore, the tool can be relied upon by sponsors to gain more insights on earned media value this way seeing the impact of their sponsorship. Essentially the tool is capable of identifying pirate streams of on-demand and sports events thus having them removed right away and as a result substantially reducing the number of illegal broadcasts and lost views.
