Infront to provide broadest ever coverage of Premier League in sub-Saharan Africa

(PRESS RELEASE) ZUG, 30-Sep-2020 — /EuropaWire/ — Infront, a Wanda Sports Group company, has secured a 30 percent increase in broadcasters for one of the world’s top football leagues. With over 25 broadcasters to provide broadest free-to-air reach of the top English football league, Premier League will enjoy its broadest ever coverage on free-to-air television in sub-Saharan Africa for the 2020/21 season.

Over 25 broadcasters across more than 20 territories will show one match a week on free-to-air television, expanding the footprint of the Premier League on the continent even further. These are highlighted by new agreements in several territories including Benin, Botswana, Cameroon and Zambia.

All broadcasts of the weekly match include English, French or Portuguese commentary as well as dedicated services in local languages such as Swahili. There are also weekly preview, magazine and highlights programmes made available.

The 2020/21 EPL season began on 12 September and will run until 23 May 2021. It continues this weekend with the key fixture of Chelsea versus Crystal Palace.
