EBRD Names Andreea Moraru New Regional Director for Poland and Baltic States

Currently serving as Regional Director for Greece and Cyprus, Moraru brings extensive experience from her tenure at the EBRD since 2001. (PRESS RELEASE) LONDON, 2-Jul-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has named Andreea Moraru as its new Regional Director for Poland and the Baltic States, effective September 1st. Moraru, currently serving as the Regional Director for Greece and Cyprus, will succeed Elisabetta Falcetti, who transitions to Managing Director for Türkiye and the Caucasus.

Matteo Patrone, EBRD Vice President for Banking, praised Moraru’s extensive EBRD experience and leadership capabilities, highlighting her success in managing large teams and complex banking operations. He expressed confidence in Moraru’s ability to enhance the EBRD’s impact in Poland, one of its key markets, and further expand its presence in the dynamic Baltic countries.

Since joining the EBRD’s Graduate Analyst programme in 2001, Moraru has held various positions within the Bank, contributing significantly to its corporate business during her tenure in Athens.

EBRD, a prominent institutional investor in Poland since 1991, has invested over €14 billion across 527 projects in the country, marking a record €1.3 billion investment in 2023 alone.
