(PRESS RELEASE)  BONN, 15-Feb-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — Deutsche Telekom (ETR: DTE), one of the world’s leading integrated telecommunications companies and the largest telecommunications provider in Europe by revenue, in collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. and Brain.ai, introduces a groundbreaking AI smartphone concept at the Mobile World Congress 2024. Departing from the traditional app-centric model, this visionary device features a digital assistant powered by artificial intelligence (AI) that seamlessly integrates into users’ daily lives.

Replacing the need for multiple apps, the AI assistant acts as a personalized concierge, effortlessly executing tasks based on user commands. From booking flights to organizing travel itineraries and editing photos, the assistant streamlines various functions through intuitive voice and text commands.

Jon Abrahamson, Chief Product & Digital Officer at Deutsche Telekom, emphasizes the transformative potential of AI, envisioning a future where AI-driven smartphones enhance and simplify users’ digital experiences. This “magenta concierge” concept aims to become an indispensable everyday companion, catering to users’ needs and simplifying their digital lives.

The showcase at MWC integrates real-life use cases into Telekom’s T Phone, emphasizing the company’s commitment to making innovations accessible to everyone. Collaborating with Brain.ai, a pioneer in generative interfaces, Deutsche Telekom is developing an app-free interface that predicts and generates contextual interfaces, aligning with users’ intentions.

Two versions of the AI smartphone are showcased: one leveraging cloud-based AI processing for accessibility across device types, and another utilizing the Snapdragon® 8 Gen 3 Reference Design for on-device AI processing, ensuring speed, energy efficiency, and personalized experiences.

While prototypes are presented at MWC, it will take time for these innovations to reach consumers. Deutsche Telekom invites visitors to experience the future of AI in mobile technology at its booth, emphasizing its commitment to reliability, privacy, and security in delivering superior AI customer experiences.
