(PRESS RELEASE) OSLO, 29-Jul-2022 — /EuropaWire/ — Norsk Hydro ASA (OTCMKTS: NHYDY), a Norwegian aluminium and renewable energy company committed to a sustainable future, has announced a full restoration of the production at Brazil’s largest producer of primary aluminium Albras, partly owned by the company. The production restart follows a power distribution failure that happened in February 2022 and as a result led to a shutdown of one of the four potlines at the plant.

The power failure in February 2022 led to full shutdown of line 2, affecting 25 percent of the primary aluminium production at Albras. Albras has now fully resumed production at the potline and is now running at full capacity of 460,000 tonnes per year.

Albras is a joint venture between Hydro (51%) and Nippon Amazon Aluminum Co (49%).
