Anders Runevad to Succeed Bert Nordberg as Chair of Vestas Wind Systems Board

Nordberg has been the Chair of Vestas since 2012 and has been instrumental in guiding the company through a difficult time, ultimately leading the company to financial stability. Following the Annual General Meeting, Anders Runevad is expected to be appointed as the new Chair. Runevad was the Group President & CEO of Vestas from 2013 to 2019 and has been a member of the Board since 2020. The Board is expected to propose the re-election of the other seven current members during the Annual General Meeting.

(PRESS RELEASE) AARHUS, 9-Mar-2023 — /EuropaWire/ —  Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH: VWS), a Danish global leader in sustainable energy solutions, announces that Bert Nordberg, the current Chair of the Board of Directors of Vestas Wind Systems A/S, has informed that he will not seek re-election as a board member during the upcoming Annual General Meeting on April 12, 2023.

Nordberg has been the Chair of Vestas since 2012 and has been instrumental in guiding the company through a tumultuous time, ultimately leading the company to financial stability. Under his leadership, Vestas has transformed from a leader in onshore wind to a pioneer in sustainable energy solutions. Nordberg’s commitment to putting wind energy on an equal footing with fossil fuels has been pivotal in establishing wind energy as a crucial element of the energy systems of the future.

After the Annual General Meeting, the Board is expected to appoint Anders Runevad as the new Chair. Runevad, who has been a member of the Board since 2020 and currently serves as Deputy Chair, was Group President & CEO of Vestas from 2013 to 2019.

The Board intends to propose the re-election of the other seven current members during the Annual General Meeting, which is set to be announced on March 10, 2023. Throughout his tenure at Vestas, Nordberg has played an integral role in transforming the company into the leading sustainable energy solutions provider it is today, and his legacy will be felt for years to come.
