Vestas Secures 140 MW Order for Halkirk II Wind Project in Alberta, Canada

(IN BRIEF) Vestas, a global leader in wind energy solutions, has been awarded a 140 MW order to provide wind turbines for the Halkirk II wind project in Alberta, Canada, owned by Capital Power. The order includes 31 V150-4.5 MW wind turbines and encompasses turbine supply, delivery, and commissioning. Additionally, a 10-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement has been included to optimize the project’s performance. Laura Beane, President of Vestas North America, expressed excitement about this collaboration and the potential of the 4 MW platform for Alberta’s wind conditions. Turbine delivery is anticipated to start in Q2 2024, with commissioning planned for Q4 2024.

(PRESS RELEASE) AARHUS, 16-Aug-2023 — /EuropaWire/ — Vestas has received a 140 MW order to power the Halkirk II wind project owned by Capital Power in Alberta, Canada. The order consists of 31 V150-4.5 MW wind turbines.

The order includes supply, delivery, and commissioning of the turbines, as well as a 10-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement, designed to ensure optimised performance of the asset.
