Alstom Transport to present number of innovations at the largest trade fair for the railway industry InnoTrans in Berlin from 23 to 26 September 2014

PARIS, 19-6-2014 — /EuropaWire/ — Alstom Transport will be at InnoTrans, the largest trade fair for the railway industry, to be held in Berlin, Germany from 23 to 26 September 2014. On this occasion, Alstom will introduce three major innovations: the very latest version of its Citadis tram, a predictive maintenance tool, and new versions of the Atlas range, its ERTMS solution.

Alstom will thus reveal the very latest version of its Citadis tram. More comfortable, more spacious, more accessible than ever before, it has been designed to improve the passenger experience. The new Alstom tram will feature more options than previous versions, enabling it to be adapted in the best way to suit the unique requirements of individual towns and cities.

Another innovation to be revealed by Alstom at InnoTrans is a predictive maintenance tool developed to reduce lifecycle costs for its customers. This tool can monitor the state of equipment and forecast its remaining usage time in order to optimise operational availability and maintenance costs.

Finally, the company will introduce new versions of the Atlas range, its ERTMS solution. These solutions are scalable, adapting to various traffic requirements, and can be used in low or high density networks in order to provide a better response to all customer requirements.

At the Alstom stand, visitors to InnoTrans will be able to find out about Alstom’s latest representative projects, illustrating the proximity with its customers. For example, in the PRASA contract1 to supply commuter trains in South Africa, the Group was able to adapt to the specific features of the market and make an offer as part of a joint venture with local companies. Alstom is currently building a local manufacturing facility, which will help to develop the social and economic fabric of the region and also supply trains even more rapidly. South African trains, with South Africans, for South Africans.

Alstom will also be exhibiting two regional trains from its Coradia range, a tram and a freight locomotive in the external exhibition area.

To find out more about all of these innovations, visit Alstom at InnoTrans at stand 405, hall 3.2
