Prof. Ina Schieferdecker appointed Director and Member of the Executive Board of the Fraunhofer Institute for Open Communication Systems FOKUS

The Executive Board of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft appointed Prof. Ina Schieferdecker as Director and Member of the Executive Board of the Fraunhofer Institute for Open Communication Systems FOKUS in Berlin on January 1, 2015. As a Director of Fraunhofer FOKUS, she is heading the Institute together with Executive Director Prof. Manfred Hauswirth, who succeeded Prof. Radu Popescu-Zeletin on October 1, 2014.

Prof. Ina Schieferdecker studied mathematical computer science at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and received her doctoral degree from Technische Universität Berlin in 1994. She has been working at Fraunhofer FOKUS since 1993 and holds a professorship at Freie Universität Berlin in model-driven development and quality engineering of software-based systems. She developed the “Testing, Interoperability, and Performance TIP”, “Modeling and Testing MOTION”, and the “System Quality Center SQC” Competence Centers there. She is Vice President of the Association for Software Quality and Further Education (Arbeitskreis Software-Qualität und -Fortbildung e.V./ASQF) and Member of the German National Academy of Science and Engineering (acatech), to mention a few.
