Energiekontor Secures New PPA Agreements for Post-EEG Wind Parks and Expands Renewable Energy Portfolio

(IN BRIEF) Energiekontor has secured new power purchase agreements for 17 German post-EEG wind parks with a combined capacity exceeding 100 megawatts, strengthening the long-term profitability of its renewable energy portfolio. The company continues expanding and modernizing its wind and solar assets through repowering projects and new developments, with more than 230 megawatts of additional capacity currently under construction. Energiekontor said the agreements support energy security and reinforce the commercial viability of renewable energy projects beyond government subsidy schemes.

(PRESS RELEASE) BREMEN, 20-May-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Energiekontor AG has secured new economically attractive power purchase agreements (PPAs) for several of its German post-EEG wind parks, strengthening the long-term profitability of its renewable energy portfolio beyond Germany’s renewable energy subsidy framework.

The Bremen-based wind and solar park developer and operator announced that PPAs have been concluded for 2026 and 2027 covering 17 wind parks in Germany with a combined installed capacity exceeding 100 megawatts. The agreements support the continued commercial operation of wind farms that have moved beyond the country’s Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG) subsidy scheme.

Energiekontor currently operates 39 wind and solar parks within its proprietary portfolio, representing a combined installed capacity of approximately 448 megawatts. In Germany, the company’s owned assets include 28 wind parks with around 260 megawatts of installed capacity and four solar parks with roughly 91 megawatt peak capacity.

The company stated that the newly secured PPAs come at a time when geopolitical developments and ongoing discussions surrounding energy security, supply stability and energy independence continue to increase the strategic importance of renewable electricity generation across Europe.

According to Energiekontor, the agreements will significantly strengthen the economic viability of the affected wind parks during the 2026 and 2027 financial years. Other assets within the company’s portfolio continue to benefit either from existing EEG remuneration schemes or long-term PPAs, particularly newer solar projects.

Alongside securing new electricity marketing agreements, Energiekontor is continuing to modernize and expand its renewable energy portfolio through both new project development and repowering activities at existing sites.

The company recently completed repowering projects at the Oederquart wind park in Lower Saxony’s Stade district and at the Wegberg wind park in North Rhine-Westphalia’s Heinsberg district. Through the repowering process, both sites now once again qualify for long-term EEG remuneration support.

Energiekontor also confirmed that nine additional wind and solar park projects with a combined generation capacity of more than 230 megawatts are currently under construction for its proprietary portfolio. The company expects to complete further financial closings during the year as it continues expanding and technologically upgrading its asset base.

At the same time, Energiekontor said it remains focused on project sales and the ongoing development of its renewable energy pipeline across core markets, maintaining a business strategy that combines owned asset expansion with external project transactions.

Peter Szabo, Chief Executive Officer of Energiekontor AG, said the company’s long-standing expertise in operational management and electricity marketing enables it to establish commercially sustainable solutions even for wind parks operating outside the EEG subsidy system.

Szabo added that Energiekontor’s diversified portfolio and integrated business model position the company to continue delivering stable power marketing solutions while supporting the further expansion and modernization of its renewable energy operations.
