(PRESS RELEASE) UKRAINE, 23-Mar-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Quantum Systems has announced a significant expansion of its support for Ukraine’s air defence efforts through a contract to supply 15,000 interceptor drones, alongside a strategic investment in Ukrainian unmanned systems manufacturer WIY Drones. The initiative aligns with Ukraine’s national defence priorities and aims to strengthen its ability to counter aerial threats.

Under the agreement with the Security and Defence Forces of Ukraine, Quantum Systems will deliver the interceptor drones to the National Guard of Ukraine, reinforcing capabilities to defend against incoming aerial attacks. Counter-unmanned aerial systems have become a critical component of Ukraine’s defence strategy, particularly in addressing the growing threat posed by hostile drones.

The development follows Quantum Systems’ investment in WIY Drones, a Ukraine-based company specializing in interceptor drones, reconnaissance and strike UAVs, as well as ground control systems and related technologies. Through this partnership, both companies will collaborate to scale production and further develop advanced drone interception capabilities within Ukraine.

Central to this effort is the STRILA interceptor drone, named after the Ukrainian word for “arrow.” Designed to engage fast-moving and highly maneuverable aerial targets, the system has already demonstrated effectiveness in combat conditions. Production of STRILA will be expanded domestically to meet immediate operational requirements, with the potential for exporting surplus units in the future.

Quantum Systems and WIY Drones plan to continue advancing joint development initiatives, with additional details regarding future interceptor technologies and production strategies expected to be shared in due course.
