(PRESS RELEASE) LONDON, 15-Sep-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — The British Safety Council will host its 15th Annual Conference on 14 October, centred on the theme Workplace Health, Safety and Wellbeing in an AI-enabled World. The event, supported by National Highways’ Driving for Better Business campaign, will bring together experts, innovators, and thought leaders to examine how artificial intelligence is shaping the future of health, safety, and wellbeing at work.

This year’s conference will be chaired by Steve Ward, IT Director at the British Safety Council, and will run as a free, full-day online event. Participants will hear from a diverse line-up of speakers representing the Health and Safety Executive, BSI, Institute for Employment Studies, Microsoft, HandsHQ, Pinsent Masons, Ward Hadaway LLP, and academics from the Universities of Surrey and East London.

Across a series of sessions, discussions will focus on the evolving risks and opportunities posed by AI in workplace management, particularly around psychosocial safety, legal considerations, and the responsibilities of health and safety professionals. Delegates will also explore how training and upskilling initiatives can help organisations make the most of emerging technologies, while ensuring that human wellbeing and ethical practices remain central to workplace culture.

Key highlights include conversations on the potential threats AI may introduce, strategies for maintaining psychological safety in digitally transformed environments, and the legal and regulatory landscape surrounding AI, technology, and workplace responsibilities. The agenda aims to equip attendees with practical tools, insights, and guidance on how organisations can balance innovation with safeguarding people’s health and wellbeing.

Mike Robinson, Chief Executive of the British Safety Council, said: “We are excited to once again offer our Annual Conference online and free of charge. This year, our focus on workplace health, safety, and wellbeing in an AI-enabled world highlights the intersection of cutting-edge technology with human-centred practices. We want to create a collaborative space for professionals to explore culture, leadership, and the evolving legal frameworks shaping the future of work.”

Delegates can expect to learn how AI is influencing workplace risks, roles, and responsibilities—from automation to ethical considerations—while gaining strategies for supporting inclusion, psychological safety, and human connection during technological change. The event promises to prepare health and safety leaders with knowledge and tools to guide their teams responsibly and effectively in an AI-driven future.

The complete agenda, along with registration details, is available online for those wishing to attend.
