Skanska Secures $203M Contract for Major Data Center Expansion in Georgia

Skanska to refinance its 2017 EUR 500 million undrawn revolving credit facility

The project includes constructing a 244,090 square-foot facility with additional site work, underground utilities, and the fitout of administrative spaces and five data halls. (PRESS RELEASE) STOCKHOLM, 9-Aug-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — Skanska has been awarded a significant supplemental contract by an existing client to expand a data center in Georgia, USA. The additional contract, valued at USD 203 million (approximately SEK 2.1 billion), will be reflected in Skanska’s US order bookings for the third quarter of 2024.

This expansion project involves the construction of a 244,090 square-foot data center, complete with associated site work and underground utilities. The project scope also includes the fitout of administration spaces and five data halls, ensuring the facility meets the highest standards for data management and security.

Construction is already in progress, with completion targeted for the first quarter of 2026. This project further strengthens Skanska’s presence in the US data center market, demonstrating the company’s continued commitment to delivering large-scale, high-tech infrastructure projects.
