Sener reinforces international defence ambitions with senior appointment of Sara Cristóbal

Cristóbal holds advanced degrees from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, MIT, and IE Business School, along with specialist training at CESEDEN. Reporting to Rafael Orbe, Managing Director of Defence, she will oversee Sener’s international defence activities in 20 countries, supporting the company’s position as a leading technology partner in defence and security programmes.

She will report directly to Rafael Orbe, Managing Director of Defence at Sener, and will be responsible for advancing the company’s international growth in the 20 countries where it already has a presence in the defence market.

Cristóbal brings more than 16 years of experience in highly competitive and sensitive industries such as defence, security, and aeronautics. Her expertise includes international business development, strategic management, and leadership in complex multinational environments. Prior to joining Sener, she served as Director of Defence, Security and Communications at Amper Group, where she oversaw corporate strategy and growth initiatives. She also acted as Executive Secretary of the Spanish delegation to the NATO Industrial Advisory Group (NIAG).

She holds a degree and master’s in aeronautical engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, an MBA from IE Business School, and an additional master’s degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Her education also includes specialised training in logistics management at the Centre for National Defence Studies (CESEDEN).
