Ricoh Introduces Next-Gen Production Printers with AI Features and Stapleless Binding Technology

(IN BRIEF) Ricoh has announced the launch of the RICOH Pro C5400 Series, a next-generation line of colour production printers that bring enhanced speed, usability, and media flexibility to commercial and enterprise print environments. Featuring dramatically reduced warm-up times, faster scanning, intelligent media handling, and eco-conscious design, the series supports a wide variety of printing needs—from envelopes to long-sheet applications—while enabling higher productivity and consistent high-quality output. With stapleless binding and other innovative features, the Pro C5400 Series is set to be available in EMEA starting July 2025.

(PRESS RELEASE) LONDON, 9-Jun-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Ricoh has unveiled the new RICOH Pro C5400 Series, a powerful advancement in colour production printing designed to meet the evolving demands of commercial and enterprise print operations. Combining improved speed, operational usability, and media versatility, the new series helps clients streamline production and drive business growth through enhanced workflow capabilities.

Built upon the success of the RICOH Pro C5310S/C5300S/Pro C5300SL, the new Pro C5400 Series delivers elevated core performance, including superior image registration accuracy through optimized paper feeding and advanced image adjustment technologies. These updates make the series especially suitable for high-precision commercial printing applications.

Supporting a broad spectrum of media types—including coated and waterproof paper, envelopes, clear files, and long sheet formats up to 1,300 mm—the Pro C5400 Series enables customers to produce an array of promotional materials with greater ease, reliability, and efficiency.

Key performance enhancements include:

  • Dramatically reduced warm-up times: down from 120 seconds to just 26 seconds for the Pro C5410S and 30 seconds for the Pro C5400S.
  • Faster scanning capabilities: up to 300 duplex pages per minute with AI-powered orientation detection and support for continuous scanning of small documents such as business cards.
  • Enhanced touchscreen interface: providing improved operability and paper setting adjustments that ensure consistent high print quality.
  • Innovative finishing options: including an industry-first* stapleless binding feature using water pressure, allowing up to 16 sheets (corner binding) or 12 sheets (dual-position) to be bound without staples.
  • Upgraded envelope printing function: offering faster envelope throughput and increased productivity.
  • Compact folding unit: redesigned to just 209 mm in width—less than half the size of its predecessor.
  • Advanced image registration and paper handling: through a newly engineered Vacuum Feed Large Capacity Input Tray (LCIT).
  • Refined transfer condition controls: minimizing prepress adjustment time for faster turnaround.
  • Sustainability improvements: with over five times more recycled materials used compared to the previous generation, supporting customer environmental initiatives.

“The Pro C5400 Series delivers significantly expanded production capabilities for today’s fast-paced commercial and enterprise print environments,” said Eef de Ridder, Vice President, Graphic Communications Group, Ricoh Europe. “These comprehensive enhancements are aimed at helping our clients meet increased demand for a wider range of short-run applications while consistently achieving high-quality results across a variety of media types.”

The RICOH Pro C5400 Series will be available in EMEA beginning July 2025.
