PUMA Appoints Indrajeet Sen as New Head of Global Sourcing as Anne-Laure Descours Transitions to Advisory Role

(IN BRIEF) PUMA has appointed Indrajeet Sen as Senior Vice President of Group Sourcing, taking over operational responsibilities from Anne-Laure Descours, who will not extend her contract beyond 2024. Sen, who has been with PUMA since 2016, will oversee global sourcing and development, reporting to Chief Product Officer Maria Valdes. Descours, after more than 12 years with PUMA, will transition to an external advisory role, focusing on sustainability. The management board will be reduced to three members following her departure.

(PRESS RELEASE) CITY, Country, 29-Aug-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — PUMA has announced the appointment of Indrajeet Sen as Senior Vice President of PUMA Group Sourcing, where he will assume the operational responsibilities previously held by Chief Sourcing Officer Anne-Laure Descours. Sen, who has been with PUMA since 2016, will oversee global sourcing and development for footwear, apparel, and accessories, while also focusing on operations and sustainability. He will report directly to PUMA’s Chief Product Officer, Maria Valdes, and will be based in Xiamen, China.

Indrajeet Sen brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having played a critical part in managing PUMA’s supply chain diversification and operational efficiency, particularly during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. His leadership is expected to drive PUMA’s continued growth and innovation in sourcing.

Meanwhile, Anne-Laure Descours, who has been a key figure at PUMA for over 12 years, will not extend her contract beyond 2024. Instead, she will shift her focus to her personal interests and continue to contribute to PUMA as an external advisor, particularly in the area of sustainability—a field in which she has helped PUMA gain international recognition.

As Descours steps down, PUMA’s management board will be streamlined to three members: CEO Arne Freundt, CFO Hubert Hinterseher, and Chief Product Officer Maria Valdes.
