INEOS Inovyn’s BIOVYN™ Set to Revolutionize Dutch Construction Sector with Sustainable PVC Solution

(IN BRIEF) Kömmerling, a window profile producer, is set to utilize INEOS Inovyn’s BIOVYN™, the world’s first commercially available PVC made from renewable feedstock, in construction projects across the Netherlands. The first project will focus on renovating 19 houses to achieve net-zero-energy social housing, making it the first construction endeavor to use certified bio-attributed PVC window frames. BIOVYN™ offers a significant carbon footprint reduction of over 90% compared to traditional PVC, without compromising on quality and performance. The installations are expected to begin in June 2023.

(PRESS RELEASE) LONDON, 26-Jun-2023 — /EuropaWire/ — INEOS, a global chemical company, announces that INEOS Inovyn has unveiled the adoption of BIOVYN, the bio-attributed PVC, in several upcoming construction and renovation projects in the Netherlands. The utilization of BIOVYN in these initiatives brings a significant reduction in the carbon footprint associated with house construction and renovation, reinforcing its role as a sustainable solution.

Inna Jeschke, Business Unit Manager Polymers at INEOS Inovyn, expresses excitement about the expanding use of BIOVYN within the construction sector and acknowledges its potential across various industries.

“BIOVYNTM’s unique properties have spoken to yet another sector where more sustainable solutions are required to reduce CO2 emissions,” Inna Jeschke, Business Unit Manager Polymers, explains. “Our product is already trusted by some of the world’s most famous consumer brands, and we are very proud to count Kömmerling amongst them.”

This year, renowned window profile producer Kömmerling will pioneer the incorporation of INEOS Inovyn’s BIOVYN, the world’s first commercial PVC made from renewable feedstock, in renovation and new construction projects throughout the Netherlands.

The initial installations are slated for June 2023, with the first project focusing on renovating 19 houses to transform them into net-zero-energy social housing*. This pioneering initiative will mark the world’s first construction project to feature certified bio-attributed PVC window frames.

INEOS Inovyn’s BIOVYN delivers an impressive carbon footprint reduction of over 90% compared to traditional PVC, without compromising on quality and performance.

“We are proud of this project. It is a first in the industry and we consider it an important step in the development of sustainable building materials.
