Fugro to Perform Site Characterization Program for Offshore Wind Development on US East Coast

(IN BRIEF) Fugro has signed a letter of intent to perform a site characterization program for an offshore wind development on the US East Coast. The aim of the program is to accelerate the construction and operations permitting process, and involves the collection of geophysical and geotechnical datasets. The developing ground model will be made available in near real-time to project owners to facilitate faster decision-making and better collaboration with regulatory agencies. The project is set to begin in Q2 2023 and was not included in Fugro’s 12-months backlog as of September 2022.

(PRESS RELEASE) LEIDSCHENDAM, Netherlands, 20-Feb-2023 — /EuropaWire/ — Fugro, (AMS: FUR), world’s leading Geo-data specialist, has signed a letter of intent to optimize and perform a site characterization program for an offshore wind development on the US East Coast. The aim of the program is to expedite the construction and operations permitting process, and this represents Fugro’s most recent work on the US East Coast.

Fieldwork for the project will begin in Q2 2023, and will involve collecting geophysical and geotechnical datasets. The ground model will be developed to support site planning and engineering design, and it will be made available to project owners in near real-time to facilitate faster decision-making and improved collaboration with stakeholders, including regulatory agencies.

This project was not yet included in Fugro’s 12-months backlog as of September 2022, the date of the company’s latest published results.
