Engepack Partners with ABL to Enhance Operational Efficiency with Asset Integrity Management Audit

(IN BRIEF) Engepack, Brazil’s leading PET packaging manufacturer, has partnered with ABL to conduct an operational excellence audit at its Simões Filho plant. The audit will evaluate asset management systems to enhance efficiency, reduce risks, and ensure the plant operates at maximum capacity. ABL’s expertise in asset integrity management will help optimize operations, resulting in improved service for Engepack’s customers.

(PRESS RELEASE) LONDON, 21-Jan-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Brazilian packaging manufacturer Engepack has enlisted ABL’s Asset Integrity Management (AIM) unit to perform an operational excellence audit at its plant in Simões Filho, Brazil. The audit aims to assess and optimize the plant’s asset management systems, ensuring it operates at peak performance and safety levels.

Engepack, a leader in the production of PET (polyethylene terephthalate) packaging in Brazil, operates the country’s largest and most advanced PET preform facility. The company supplies packaging solutions for a wide range of industries, including food and beverages—spanning soft drinks, water, juices, dairy products, edible oils, and mayonnaise—as well as household products.

The objective of ABL’s operational excellence audit is to ensure the plant is functioning safely and efficiently, operating at its maximum design capacity. This includes creating a roadmap to address potential challenges, enhancing the overall efficiency of assets, personnel, and operations. ABL’s audit will also pinpoint key areas of business risk, propose mitigation strategies, and focus on high-priority initiatives to maximize return on investment (ROI).

ABL’s approach to the project involves an initial asset health check, followed by a detailed operational excellence audit. Using software-based tools, the team will validate identified issues, conduct a thorough diagnostic phase, and provide an engineering analysis summary. The final deliverable will be a prioritized list of recommended improvements based on projected ROI and the associated effort required.

The project will be managed by ABL’s Rio de Janeiro office, with support from the company’s global asset integrity management team, which has successfully led operational excellence and business performance improvement programs worldwide for over 20 years.

Peter Adam, Group Managing Director for Asset Integrity Management at ABL, commented on the partnership: “We are excited to collaborate with Engepack on this cutting-edge project. By combining our global expertise in asset integrity management with our deep understanding of the Brazilian market, we are confident in our ability to enhance operational efficiency at Engepack’s plant, enabling them to deliver even more effective services to their customers.”
