Energiekontor Commissions Repowered Oederquart Wind Park to Strengthen Renewable Energy Portfolio

(IN BRIEF) Energiekontor has brought the repowered Oederquart wind park in Lower Saxony into operation, increasing its owned generation capacity to around 450 megawatts. The modernization replaced older turbines with six high-efficiency units, raising site capacity to approximately 33 megawatts and enabling annual production of about 80 gigawatt hours of renewable electricity. With more than 200 megawatts of additional projects under construction and further developments planned through 2027, the company expects to expand its portfolio to roughly 650 megawatts, reinforcing its strategy of growth through repowering and new renewable assets.

(PRESS RELEASE) BREMEN, 17-Feb-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Energiekontor AG has commissioned the repowered Oederquart wind park in the Stade district of Lower Saxony, marking another milestone in the company’s expansion of its proprietary renewable energy portfolio. With the project now operational, Energiekontor’s owned generation capacity has increased by approximately 17 megawatts, bringing the total to around 450 megawatts.

Originally developed and constructed by Energiekontor more than 25 years ago, the Oederquart site has undergone a comprehensive modernization. Ten older turbines with a combined capacity of 15 megawatts have been replaced by six high-performance wind turbines, increasing total installed capacity at the location to roughly 33 megawatts. The project secured an EEG feed-in tariff in 2023 through a Federal Network Agency tender and achieved financial close in spring 2024. Half of the wind park was sold in 2024, while the remaining share now contributes to Energiekontor’s internal generation portfolio.

The newly installed Enercon E-160 EP-5 turbines each provide about 5.6 megawatts of nominal power, with a hub height of 120 metres and a rotor diameter of 160 metres. From its first full year of operation, the wind park is expected to produce approximately 80 gigawatt hours of electricity annually—enough to supply around 24,000 households with renewable energy while avoiding roughly 60,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year. Half of this output will be recognized as generation income for Energiekontor.

The commissioning restores the company’s owned capacity to around 450 megawatts, distributed across 35 wind parks and four solar parks. Energiekontor is continuing to scale its portfolio, with more than 200 megawatts currently under construction and targeted for inclusion in the coming years. Projects scheduled for completion in financial year 2026 include wind and solar developments totaling over 120 megawatts, among them two solar parks in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania with long-term power purchase agreements and a wind turbine in Lower Saxony supported by an EEG tariff. Additional installations of about 85 megawatts are planned to join the portfolio in 2027, supporting a projected expansion to roughly 650 megawatts.

Through repowering and new-build developments, Energiekontor aims to enhance the efficiency of existing infrastructure while generating stable, long-term revenue streams that support continued investment in renewable energy projects.

For 35 years, Energiekontor has stood for a solid business policy and extensive experience in renewable energies. Founded in Bremerhaven, Germany, in 1990, the company is among the pioneers in its industry and is now one of Germany’s leading project developers. Its core business ranges from the planning and construction to the operational management of wind and solar parks in Germany and abroad. In addition, Energiekontor operates 39 wind and solar parks with a total nominal power of around 450 megawatts in its own portfolio. Around 200 megawatts, which are also earmarked for the Group’s own portfolio, are currently under construction. Energiekontor also plays a pioneering role in economic terms and aims to realise the first wind and solar parks in all target markets at market prices as quickly as possible, independently of state subsidies.

Along with its headquarters in Bremen, Germany, Energiekontor has offices in Bremerhaven, Hagen im Bremischen, Aachen, Augsburg, Berlin, Potsdam and Hildesheim. The company also has branch offices in England, Scotland, Portugal, France and the United States.

Since being established, Energiekontor has a proud track record of realising more than 170 wind and solar park projects with a total nominal power of over 1.5 gigawatts. This corresponds to an investment volume of more than 2.3 billion euros. The significantly expanded project pipeline in the 2024 financial year (11.2 gigawatts excluding US project rights) shows the future growth potential and the possible contribution that Energiekontor can make to the expansion of renewable energies.
