Western Country Government Awards Saab SEK 8 Billion Defense System Contract

(IN BRIEF) Swedish defense and security company, Saab, has signed a framework agreement with a Western country’s government and received orders for a number of defense systems, including its Carl-Gustaf® multi-purpose shoulder-launched weapon, the RBS 70 NG short-range air defense system, and the Giraffe 1X radar. The total order value is approximately SEK 8 billion, with deliveries planned from 2023 to 2026. (PRESS RELEASE) STOCKHOLM, 24-Feb-2023 — /EuropaWire/ — Saab AB (STO: SAAB-B), leading company in the military defence and civil security markets, announces that it has signed a framework agreement with a Western country’s government and received orders for a number of defense systems, with deliveries planned from 2023 to 2026. The total order value is approximately SEK 8 billion.

The orders include Saab’s Carl-Gustaf® multi-purpose shoulder-launched weapon, the RBS 70 NG short-range air defense system, and the Giraffe 1X radar. Due to the sensitive nature of the industry, and in accordance with customer and national security interests, no further information regarding these orders or the customer will be provided.
