Wood to Lead Project Management Consultancy for Groundbreaking Methanol Plant in UAE’s Al Ruwais Industrial City

(IN BRIEF) Wood has secured a contract from TA’ZIZ to provide project management consultancy for the UAE’s first methanol production facility in Al Ruwais Industrial City, Abu Dhabi. The facility will be one of the largest in the world, producing 1.8 million tonnes per year, powered by the latest clean energy technology. The project, set for completion in 2028, underscores Wood’s expertise in delivering large-scale chemical projects in the Middle East. Around 40 Wood consultants will work alongside TA’ZIZ’s EPC contractor to ensure successful delivery.

(PRESS RELEASE) ABERDEEN, 27-May-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Wood has been awarded a contract by TA’ZIZ to provide project management consultancy (PMC) for the development of the UAE’s first methanol production facility in Al Ruwais Industrial City, Abu Dhabi. Set to be one of the largest methanol plants in the world, the facility will produce 1.8 million tonnes of methanol per year upon its completion in 2028. The plant will utilize cutting-edge clean energy technology, ensuring it operates as one of the most energy-efficient methanol production facilities globally.
