TotalEnergies and Airbus Sign Long-Term Renewable Power Contracts Covering Half of Key Sites’ Electricity Demand

(IN BRIEF) TotalEnergies and Airbus have signed two clean firm power agreements that will supply 3.3 TWh of baseload renewable electricity per year to Airbus’ major sites in Germany and the United Kingdom from 2027 onward, covering about half of the facilities’ electricity needs through new 200-MW renewable assets. The deal builds on the companies’ existing cooperation on sustainable aviation fuel and is intended to help Airbus secure reliable low-carbon power while supporting its emissions-reduction goals, while TotalEnergies presents the contracts as proof of its ability to deliver integrated, multi-country clean power solutions based on a portfolio combining renewable and flexible assets. The agreement also strengthens TotalEnergies’ broader corporate power business alongside similar deals with companies such as Google, Amazon, Microsoft, and Air Liquide, as the company continues to expand its renewable capacity toward 35 GW by the end of 2025 and more than 100 TWh of annual electricity production by 2030.

(PRESS RELEASE) PARIS, 5-Feb-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — TotalEnergies and Airbus have concluded two long-term clean firm power agreements that will provide 3.3 terawatt hours of electricity to Airbus’ principal facilities in Germany and the United Kingdom. Under the terms of the contracts, the power delivered from 2027 onward will follow a baseload profile and will be sourced from newly developed renewable energy assets with a combined capacity of 200 megawatts. This supply is expected to cover approximately half of the electricity demand of the Airbus sites included in the agreements, supporting the manufacturer’s ongoing efforts to reduce the carbon footprint of its industrial operations well into the next decade.

Stéphane Michel, President of Gas, Renewables & Power at TotalEnergies, highlighted that the agreements build on the companies’ previously announced cooperation on sustainable aviation fuel and reflect TotalEnergies’ growing presence in the German and UK energy markets. He emphasized that the contracts demonstrate the company’s capacity to provide integrated, ready-to-operate clean power solutions across multiple countries by drawing on a diversified portfolio that combines renewable generation with flexible assets. According to Michel, these arrangements are also expected to strengthen the financial performance of TotalEnergies’ electricity business while helping industrial customers advance their decarbonization strategies.

Florent Massou dit Labaquère, Executive Vice President of Operations for Airbus’ Commercial Aircraft division, stated that the PPAs are consistent with Airbus’ long-term objectives to improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions across its sites. He noted that the agreements will secure a reliable supply of low-carbon electricity, complement the companies’ existing collaboration on scaling sustainable aviation fuel production, and form part of a broader approach to enhancing operational resilience and sustainability.

Beyond this specific deal, TotalEnergies continues to expand its tailored clean power offerings for corporate customers worldwide. The new agreements with Airbus add to a growing list of similar arrangements already in place with companies such as SWM, Google, Data4, STMicroelectronics, Saint-Gobain, Air Liquide, Amazon, LyondellBasell, Merck, Microsoft, Orange, and Sasol, illustrating TotalEnergies’ ability to design customized energy solutions that support clients’ transition to lower-carbon operations.

TotalEnergies is steadily developing a balanced electricity portfolio that integrates renewable sources — including solar, onshore wind, and offshore wind — with flexible assets such as gas-fired combined-cycle plants and battery storage. As of the end of October 2025, the company had more than 32 gigawatts of installed gross renewable generation capacity, with plans to reach 35 gigawatts by the end of 2025 and to achieve over 100 terawatt hours of net electricity production annually by 2030.
