The Darkest Hearts to Release Its Debut Single “Disappear” June 16th

NASHVILLE, Tenn., 16-6-2014 — /EuropaWire/ —  Dark, brooding things are emerging from sunny Music City, USA. With a full, lush sound, driving beat and vivid lyrics, the debut single Disappear from The Darkest Hearts is poised to make some serious noise. And what you’ll hear will seduce you.

Disappear features newcomer John Kramedjian on vocals, veteran guitarist Luke Vavrek, and guest artist Ron Lavella of Vertical Horizons on drums. The single was recorded at Soundcheck Nashville, The Dark House | VAVROCK studios and Lohrs Productions. Mixing was performed by Kyle Manner at Studio West. Manner is also currently in studio with We Are The Finale and Brad Paisley.

The Darkest Hearts is the brainchild of Luke Vavrek and John Kramedjian, two friends who combined their musical backgrounds to create a sound greater than the sum of its parts. Part Nine Inch Nails, part Morrissey, their sound is a fusion of East Coast blue collar rock and West Coast punk. So maybe it’s fitting the band’s genesis happened in the nation’s Third Coast—Nashville, Tennessee.

“I met Luke through a mutual friend when I answered a Craigslist ad for a singer,” says Kramedjian. “The ad didn’t pan out—it was some high school kids and their teacher—but Luke and I hit it off and stayed in touch over the years.”

Those years included a move to Los Angeles for Vavrek, college and marriage for Kramedjian, and Vavrek’s return to Nashville. Along the way Kramedjian’s marriage started to fall apart. While the vocalist and guitarist had often talked casually about projects, suddenly things started to come together.

“We’d talked about doing a project for a long time, it just didn’t come to fruition.” says Vavrek. “After a writing session one day we stopped out for a beer. I asked him if wanted to go ‘all in’ and really do this and he agreed.”

“He’d sit and listen to melodies I’d recorded and then just start channeling all that pent up anguish. Let’s just say we had a lot of material to choose from. And one of those became Disappear. So that’s how we got where we are today.”

Where they are today also includes a punishing recording schedule to complete their debut album, an upcoming review for their single in Alt Scribe Magazine, slated for Disappear’s June 16th release, and a pan-European tour in support of the single and EP scheduled for the second half of 2014.

Hey, sometimes things are brightest when they’re the darkest.
