Safran Nacelles to maintain Airbus A330 thrust reversers for Egyptair

Dubai, United Emirates, 23-Jan-2018 — /EuropaWire/ — Safran Nacelles has signed a contract with Egyptair for maintenance services on thrust reversers that equip its Airbus A330 jetliner fleet, powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 700 engines.

The agreement involves scheduled soft time maintenance, the preventive primary maintenance performed at specific operator-chosen intervals, which can be adjusted to fit the airline’s operational schedule, along with coverage for unscheduled repair services and asset management.

Safran Nacelles is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for the Trent 700 thrust reversers. The maintenance coverage for Egyptair is part of Safran Nacelles’ wider services offering, which ensures controlled maintenance budgets through customized refurbishment work scopes at the proper times, depending on an aircraft fleet’s age and utilization – thereby preventing major disruptive and costly unscheduled events.

The long-term agreement – announced today during the MRO Middle East conference at Dubai – will be backed by Safran Nacelles’ global Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) network. These resources include the component repair center-of-excellence at Aerostructures Middle East Services (AMES) – a joint venture of Safran Nacelles and AFI KLM E&M (Air France KLM Group), based in Dubai’s Jebel Ali Free Zone, Jafza.

“We’re proud that Egyptair continues to place its trust in us by signing this service agreement,” said Olivier Savin, Safran Nacelles’ Executive Vice President – Customer Support & Services. “We are confident that our world-class support will meet Egyptair’s expectations, and are looking forward to other opportunities to extend our cooperation through Safran Nacelles’ lifecycle services solutions.”

Eng. Abou Taleb Tawfik, the Chairman and CEO of Egyptair Maintenance & Engineering, stated: “We have chosen to establish trust-based working relationships with OEMs such as Safran Nacelles because of their ability to provide strong value, along with very high levels of services and support quality. We have been working with Safran companies for more than two decades, and by signing this agreement, we are pleased to continue reinforcing our collaboration with Safran Nacelles.”
