(PRESS RELEASE) LONDON, 19-Mar-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Pearson (FTSE: PSON.L), a global leader in lifelong learning, has entered into a multi-year strategic partnership with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a leading provider of IT services and consulting, to support enterprises in building future-ready workforces through AI-driven learning and assessment solutions.

The collaboration brings together Pearson’s capabilities in education, skills development, and assessment with TCS’ strengths in contextual AI, cloud transformation, and its TCS iON digital learning platform. The joint effort is designed to help organisations continuously adapt their workforce capabilities by integrating learning directly into business operations and leveraging data-driven insights to address evolving skills gaps.

Pearson CEO Omar Abbosh highlighted that while companies are increasingly investing in artificial intelligence, many face challenges in translating that investment into measurable productivity gains. He noted that equipping employees with the right skills and confidence to work alongside AI technologies is essential for achieving meaningful returns. By combining Pearson’s expertise with TCS’ global consulting scale, the partnership aims to embed learning into everyday workflows, enabling employees to build capabilities faster and apply AI effectively in solving business challenges.

K Krithivasan, MD and CEO of TCS, emphasized that the long-term value of AI lies in how well organisations prepare their people to collaborate with intelligent systems. He pointed out that enterprises that prioritise continuous learning, adaptability, and trust within their operating models will be best positioned to succeed. The partnership seeks to align TCS’ AI and cloud expertise with Pearson’s leadership in learning to support workforce transformation at scale.

The two companies will focus on several key areas of collaboration. These include designing new approaches to integrate learning, assessment, and skills intelligence into enterprise frameworks, enabling organisations to adapt to changing job roles shaped by AI. They will also jointly develop and pilot AI-enabled learning solutions, accelerating innovation through real-world testing and rapid development cycles.

In addition, TCS will incorporate Pearson’s Versant English proficiency assessment into its recruitment and workforce development programs, strengthening language and communication skills among early-career professionals. The partnership will also see Pearson’s solutions integrated into the TCS iON platform, creating a comprehensive digital ecosystem that supports talent development in an AI-first economy. This integrated approach aims to provide organisations and governments with scalable tools for skills assessment, certification, and workforce planning, supported by AI-driven validation and benchmarking.

The partnership comes at a time when organisations are increasingly focused on upskilling their workforce to meet the demands of new technologies. Research from Pearson indicates that enabling workers to collaborate effectively with AI could contribute between $4.8 trillion and $6.6 trillion to the U.S. economy by 2034, underscoring the economic importance of workforce transformation.

This collaboration supports Pearson’s broader strategy of building deeper, long-term partnerships that drive improved outcomes for customers, foster joint market initiatives, and create shared growth opportunities.

TCS generated consolidated revenues of over US $30 billion in the fiscal year ended March 31, 2025. For more information, visit www.tcs.com.
