Neste and AT-Tuote Unveil Sustainable Multipurpose Oil with Over 90% Renewable Content

(IN BRIEF) Neste and AT-Tuote have partnered to launch AT Fossil Free Multi Oil, a multipurpose oil made with over 90% renewable content from Neste RE™ feedstock. This collaboration aims to reduce the product’s carbon footprint by over 85% compared to fossil-based alternatives while maintaining performance and safety standards. Designed for lubrication, cleaning, and other uses, the oil will be distributed in the Americas and Europe starting in 2024, furthering the companies’ commitment to sustainability.

(PRESS RELEASE) ESPOO, 13-Dec-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — Neste and Finnish company AT-Tuote have announced a collaboration to introduce AT Fossil Free Multi Oil, a more sustainable multipurpose oil made with over 90% renewable content. By utilizing Neste’s renewable feedstock, Neste RE™, the new oil significantly reduces its carbon footprint compared to conventional fossil-based oils without compromising quality or performance. Designed for applications such as lubrication, cleaning, moisture displacement, and as a penetrating oil, the product expands AT-Tuote’s environmentally conscious portfolio.

Neste RE is produced using 100% renewable raw materials, such as waste and residue oils and fats, at Neste’s refineries. It offers a drop-in solution to replace fossil-based feedstocks in the production of chemicals and polymers. Compared to conventional fossil-based materials, Neste RE delivers more than an 85% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions over its lifecycle. Despite its sustainable origins, the product matches the performance, quality, and safety standards of fossil-derived alternatives.

This is not the first partnership between Neste and AT-Tuote. In 2019, the two companies launched the world’s first industrial lubricant with nearly 100% bio-based content. The renewed cooperation reflects their shared commitment to advancing sustainability in the industry.

The AT Fossil Free Multi Oil will be distributed through partners in multiple countries, including the Americas and Northern and Central Europe. Initial sales are expected to begin in 2024, bringing this sustainable alternative to a broader market and reinforcing the shift toward environmentally friendly solutions.
