(IN BRIEF) Metso has received orders worth EUR 39 million to supply crushing and grinding equipment for the Expanded Phase 2 development of Artemis Gold’s Blackwater Mine in central British Columbia, Canada. The orders were booked partly in the second half of 2025 and partly in the first quarter of 2026 within Metso’s Minerals segment. The equipment package includes a Superior MKIII primary gyratory crusher, Nordberg HP Series cone crushers, a Premier 18,000 kW semi-autogenous grinding mill and a Premier 18,000 kW ball mill, along with slurry pumps, hydrocyclones and a RockSense particle size analyzer. The technology will support ore processing as the mine expands its production capacity. Artemis Gold highlighted Metso’s reliable equipment, local service commitment and investment in a repair facility in Prince George as key factors in the partnership. Metso representatives also emphasized that the equipment incorporates advanced technologies designed to improve performance and sustainability in large-scale mining operations.

(PRESS RELEASE) ESPOO, 6-Mar-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Metso has secured contracts to supply crushing and grinding equipment for Artemis Gold’s Blackwater Mine Expanded Phase 2 (EP2) development project located in central British Columbia, Canada. The combined value of the orders totals EUR 39 million, with approximately EUR 16 million recorded in Metso’s Minerals segment orders during the second half of 2025, and the remaining EUR 23 million recognized in orders received during the first quarter of 2026.

The project marks another step in the continued expansion of the Blackwater Mine, a major gold mining operation being developed by Artemis Gold Inc. Metso’s equipment will play a central role in supporting the mine’s processing operations as production capacity is expanded under the EP2 development phase.

According to Jeremy Langford, President of Artemis Gold Inc., the company selected Metso based on the reliability of its equipment, the company’s commitment to building a comprehensive service and repair facility in Prince George, British Columbia, and the strong local technical support Metso provides at the mine site. Langford noted that Metso’s long-term engagement and local investment align with Artemis Gold’s objective of contributing to a more diversified and sustainable regional economy in British Columbia.

The equipment package for the project includes a range of advanced crushing and grinding technologies. For the crushing circuit, Metso will supply a Superior™ MKIII primary gyratory crusher along with several Nordberg® HP Series™ cone crushers designed for high-capacity ore processing.

For the grinding stage, the delivery will include a Premier™ 18,000 kW semi-autogenous grinding (SAG) mill and a Premier™ 18,000 kW ball mill, both engineered to handle large-scale mineral processing operations.

In addition to the core crushing and grinding equipment, Metso will also deliver supporting process technology including vertical and horizontal slurry pumps, MHC™ hydrocyclones, and a RockSense™ particle size analyzer, which helps optimize grinding efficiency through real-time particle size measurement.

Christoph Hoetzel, Senior Vice President for Grinding at Metso, explained that the Premier SAG and ball mills incorporate the company’s patented Polymer HSB trunnion bearing technology as well as proprietary wear lining systems developed in-house. These innovations contribute to improved durability and performance in demanding mining environments. Hoetzel added that Metso remains a leading supplier of large gear-driven horizontal grinding mills used in mining operations around the world.

Giuseppe Campanelli, President for North and Central America at Metso, said the company is pleased to support Artemis Gold in the continued development of the Blackwater Mine. He emphasized that Metso’s Metso Plus equipment and service solutions are designed to deliver sustainable value while supporting environmental and community objectives in the region.

The Blackwater Mine expansion represents a significant investment in Canada’s mining sector, and Metso’s equipment will help enable efficient mineral processing as the project moves forward.
