The company will supply and install 100 kilometers of guard rails for the expansion and modernization of the D4 highway in the Czech Republic. This project marks voestalpine’s first comprehensive order in the Czech Republic, where it will manage the entire project. The D4 highway will connect Prague to southern Bohemia and stretch approximately 86 kilometers. voestalpine will install around 2,300 tons of steel in the form of vehicle restraint systems, upgrading 16 kilometers of the existing road link and constructing a new 32-kilometer stretch. The completion is scheduled for fall 2024. The company recently supplied 33 kilometers of guard rails for another road project in the Czech Republic, further establishing its position in the road safety sector. In its most significant endeavor in the road safety business segment to date, voestalpine is undertaking a monumental project to supply and install 100 kilometers of guard rails for the expansion and modernization of the D4 highway in the Czech Republic. The first major delivery has recently been completed, with the project set to be finalized in the fall of 2024.

Upon completion, the Dálnice 4 highway (D4), connecting Prague to southern Bohemia, will stretch approximately 86 kilometers. voestalpine is set to install approximately 2,300 tons of steel in the form of vehicle restraint systems for a new 32-kilometer section of the highway, as well as upgrade an additional 16 kilometers of the existing road link.

Czech Republic: A Key Market

This project marks voestalpine’s inaugural order in the Czech Republic, where the company has been entrusted with the comprehensive management of the entire project.

By 2024, the entire central reservation of the D55 highway will be equipped with a double-sided voestalpine vehicle restraint system.
