Infineon Expands OptiMOS™ 6 Lineup with New 135 V and 150 V MOSFETs for Power and Drive Efficiency

(IN BRIEF) Infineon Technologies has expanded its OptiMOS™ 6 MOSFET lineup by introducing new 135 V and 150 V MOSFETs, designed for enhanced efficiency in drives and switched-mode power supply (SMPS) applications. These MOSFETs offer up to a 50% reduction in on-state resistance (R DS(on)) and a 20% improvement in the figure of merit (FOM g), providing improved performance and lower EMI. They are available in a variety of packages, offering flexibility for applications such as server SMPS, solar optimizers, and motor inverters in e-forklifts and light electric vehicles.

(PRESS RELEASE) MUNICH, 21-Sep-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — Infineon Technologies AG (FSE: IFX / OTCQX: IFNNY) has expanded its OptiMOS™ 6 MOSFET series by introducing the new 135 V and 150 V product families. These additions are specifically designed to enhance efficiency in drives and switched-mode power supply (SMPS) applications, complementing the previously launched OptiMOS 6 120 V MOSFETs. With this expanded range, Infineon offers its customers more choices to select the ideal MOSFET for various demanding applications such as server SMPS, solar optimizers, high-power USB chargers, and telecom systems.

The new 135 V and 150 V MOSFETs provide up to a 50% reduction in on-state resistance (R DS(on)) compared to the previous OptiMOS 5 generation, while the figure of merit (FOM g) is reduced by 20%. This results in improved switching performance, reduced EMI, and better power efficiency, making them ideal for applications requiring high power density and reliability. The faster and softer body diode reduces Q rr by up to 59%, which helps minimize overshoot and ringing, further optimizing performance.

These MOSFETs are available in a variety of packages, including TO-220, D 2PAK, TOLL, TOLG, SuperSO8, and PQFN, giving customers flexibility in choosing the best option for their specific application needs.
