Sonne will succeed Martin Rolf, who will transition to the role of Managing Director Human Resources.

Joerg Sonne joined Hapag-Lloyd as part of the merger with UASC and has demonstrated exceptional leadership since then. He successfully led the Area Arabian Gulf division from 2017 to 2022, contributing to the company’s growth and success in the region. Over the past eight months, Sonne has held the position of Managing Director for Area Germany & Central Europe. In his new role, he will be based at Hapag-Lloyd’s headquarters in Hamburg.
