Deutsche Telekom Introduces Magenta AI for Effortless, AI-Powered Information Discovery

Developed in partnership with Perplexity, this feature not only provides responses but also curates articles in the “Discover” section to help users explore topics interactively. Magenta AI is available for free to all customers and is part of Deutsche Telekom’s efforts to make AI accessible and user-friendly. Additionally, users can access the Perplexity Pro version for free through the Magenta Moments program, extending the offer until spring 2025.

Unlike traditional search engines that present a list of links, Magenta AI uses artificial intelligence (AI) to provide direct, well-formulated answers to complex questions, sourcing real-time data from across the web and listing the underlying sources. This feature aims to enhance the user experience by offering personalized knowledge discovery in a seamless and intuitive way.

Developed in collaboration with Perplexity, an emerging AI company, Magenta AI is available to all Deutsche Telekom customers free of charge. In addition to answering questions, Magenta AI also curates up-to-date articles in the “Discover” section, selected by the AI to help users expand their knowledge in an engaging and interactive way.

The successful collaboration with Perplexity also brings additional benefits to users. Customers who enjoy the free Magenta AI feature will have the opportunity to unlock the Perplexity Pro version, which offers enhanced capabilities such as access to more AI models and the ability to upload unlimited files for analysis. Magenta Moments, which has been offering free access to Perplexity Pro since May, will extend this offer until spring 2025, providing a potential savings of 240 euros.
