BAE Systems and AMS Collaborate to Provide Artillery Systems Support in Ukraine

(IN BRIEF) BAE Systems and AMS Integrated Solutions Ltd have entered into an agreement to jointly offer specialized support for artillery systems used in Ukraine, particularly those produced by BAE Systems. This partnership aims to provide repair and support services directly to the Ukrainian armed forces from within Ukraine. It will focus on offering assistance for artillery systems donated by the UK Government, utilizing AMS’s existing maintenance centers in Ukraine, staffed by Ukrainian engineers. BAE Systems, known for its global experience in supporting products, is keen to leverage its expertise to assist the Ukrainian military in challenging operational environments. The collaboration reflects BAE Systems’ ongoing commitment to supporting Ukraine, building upon the establishment of a local entity earlier this year. AMS’s CEO, Gary Riordan, emphasized the partnership’s dedication to Ukraine’s defense efforts and their shared commitment to rapidly restoring critical artillery equipment, ensuring the country’s defense capabilities. This joint initiative has garnered support from Major General Anna-Lee Reilly of the UK Ministry of Defence, underlining the UK’s steadfast backing for Ukraine. Both BAE Systems and AMS possess substantial expertise in supporting medium and large-caliber weapon systems, with BAE Systems having manufactured a significant portion of the equipment provided to Ukraine by the UK and other governments. The companies are collaborating to offer support, training, and repairs to the Ukrainian armed forces, building on their established capabilities and local presence in the country.

(PRESS RELEASE) FARNBOROUGH, 19-Dec-2023 — /EuropaWire/ — During a visit to Kyiv, the two companies have signed an agreement that will enable them to offer specialised artillery systems support directly to Ukrainian armed forces from within Ukraine. Under the agreement, the BAE Systems and AMS team will offer repair and support services for artillery systems donated by the UK Government. AMS would use existing maintenance centres in Ukraine, where it employs Ukrainian engineers.

Both BAE Systems and AMS have significant proven expertise in the support of medium and large calibre weapon systems. BAE Systems originally manufactured a significant proportion of the equipment that the UK and other governments have provided to Ukraine. The Company is currently working with neighbouring NATO countries to provide support, training and repairs to the Ukrainian armed forces.

AMS is a leading provider of Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul Services, to Governments, Aid Agencies and commercial organisations. AMS already has an agreement with the UK Ministry of Defence to repair platforms in use in Ukraine and have established facilities in country to carry out this work.
