Skanska assigned for the expansion and renovation of Gylle school in Borlänge, Sweden

(PRESS RELEASE) STOCKHOLM, 4-Dec-2020 — /EuropaWire/ —  Skanska announces that its has signed an agreement with Borlänge Municipality for the construction of 19,000 square meters of new buildings along with renovation of the existing building in Gylle primary school. The order value amounts to more than 60M EUR (SEK 620 M), which will be included in the order bookings for Sweden for the fourth quarter of 2020.

The Gylle school is one of the largest primary schools in Dalarna, Sweden. It was built about 60 years ago and is now in need of expansion to accommodate a growing number of students. The school is estimated to be able to accommodate 1,200 students in the future. Skanska’s assignment also includes building an attached sports hall.

Construction is to start immediately and the project is expected to be finalized in 2026. The work will, however, take place in stages, which means that a number of students will be able to move into the first completed stage already at the turn of the year 2022/2023.
