Skanska to build 25-storey commercial building in Central London for EUR 286 million

(PRESS RELEASE) STOCKHOLM, 13-Feb-2020 — /EuropaWire/ — Skanska to construct the commercial office building 20 Ropemaker Street in Central London, UK. The contract worth around 286 million euros (GBP 240 M/ SEK 3.0 billion) was signed with Great Elm Assets Limited, in association with Old Park Lane Management Limited and their Development Partner CO—RE. The transaction will be included in the order bookings for Europe for the first quarter 2020.

The 25-storey building will be composed of approximately 39,000 square meters of office space and 1,100 square meters of retail space located at the ground level. Included in the project is the installation of mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering services in the commercial project which will all be done by Skanska.

Construction is scheduled to start in the first quarter of 2020 and is planned to be completed early in 2023. The project targets the certifications BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ and WELL Building Standard Version 2 – Platinum.
