(IN BRIEF) ENERCON will establish a new rotor blade manufacturing facility in Bergama, Türkiye, to support production of components for its E-175 EP5 E2 onshore wind turbine model. The plant is expected to create around 700 jobs and produce up to 150 rotor blade sets annually. The investment supports ENERCON’s localization strategy in Türkiye and enables compliance with domestic manufacturing requirements for participation in Turkish renewable energy tenders. The facility will primarily serve the Turkish market while also supplying projects across Eastern and Southern Europe. The E-175 EP5 E2 is ENERCON’s latest high-capacity turbine model and forms a key part of the company’s long-term international growth strategy.

(PRESS RELEASE) ANKARA, 13-May-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — ENERCON has announced plans to establish a new rotor blade production facility in Bergama, located in İzmir Province, as part of the international rollout of its new E-175 EP5 E2 onshore wind turbine model.

The new manufacturing facility is expected to create approximately 700 jobs while also supporting employment across regional supply-chain companies involved in the wind energy sector. According to ENERCON, the plant is designed to produce up to 150 rotor blade sets annually during its current development phase.

The investment forms part of the company’s localization strategy in Türkiye and is intended to help meet local content requirements under the country’s government tendering system for onshore wind farms. Turkish regulations require a certain proportion of wind turbine components to be manufactured domestically for projects participating in public renewable energy tenders.

Heiko Juritz, Chief Operating Officer of ENERCON, stated that the Bergama facility will provide the manufacturing conditions necessary for customers using the company’s new turbine model to qualify for Turkish government tenders. He added that the investment continues ENERCON’s long-standing localization strategy in the Turkish market.

ENERCON has operated in Türkiye since the 1990s and has been involved in the country’s wind energy sector for decades, including through local manufacturing activities, project development, sales, and service operations.

The E-175 EP5 E2 represents ENERCON’s latest flagship onshore wind turbine model. With a nominal output capacity of 7.0 megawatts and a rotor diameter of 175 meters, the turbine is positioned among the highest-yielding onshore wind turbines currently available in Europe. The company described the model as a central component of its long-term market strategy and broader portfolio of integrated renewable energy solutions.

ENERCON stated that international demand for the E-175 EP5 E2 has been strong, including in Türkiye, where the company recently signed supply agreements with Turkish customers covering projects with a combined generation capacity exceeding 300 megawatts.

The Bergama facility is expected to primarily supply rotor blades for the Turkish market while also supporting wind energy projects across Eastern and Southern Europe.

Heiko Juritz stated that Türkiye remains one of the company’s most strategically important international markets. He added that the new investment reflects ENERCON’s commitment to supporting customers throughout the entire wind energy project lifecycle, including manufacturing, sales, installation, maintenance, and operational optimization.

ENERCON currently has approximately 4 gigawatts of installed wind power capacity in Türkiye and maintains local sales, project management, and service operations within the country.
