(PRESS RELEASE) STOCKHOLM, 12-Jun-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — Skanska, a leading construction and development company, has successfully divested the Hørkær Have multi-family rental project in Herlev, Denmark, to NREP for DKK 737 million, approximately SEK 1.1 billion. The transaction, slated to be recorded in the Commercial Development stream in the second quarter of 2024, is set to be finalized upon project completion in the second quarter of 2025.

Situated in central Herlev, adjacent to the train station and future light rail stations to Copenhagen, the Hørkær Have project spans 22,720 square meters. It will comprise 264 rental apartments and an equal number of parking spaces, all designed with electric car charging stations. Notably, the project’s innovative approach replaces traditional parking spaces with a communal green garden, fostering biodiversity through carefully researched plant selections.

The garden, irrigated with harvested rainwater, will serve as a hub for tenants, featuring meeting rooms, recreational facilities, and work-from-home amenities within a centrally located building. Furthermore, the project has obtained pre-certification under the prestigious DGNB green certification, achieving the Gold level.

With the first apartments scheduled for occupancy by December 2024 and overall project completion anticipated by June 2025, Skanska’s divestment underscores its commitment to sustainable urban development and innovative residential solutions.
