Zumtobel Group Wins First-Ever ‘Sustainable Exhibition Stand’ Prize at Light + Building Trade Fair

(IN BRIEF) The Zumtobel Group, based in Vorarlberg, Austria, was awarded the inaugural “Sustainable Exhibition Stand” prize at the Light + Building trade fair in Frankfurt for its innovative and environmentally conscious booth concept. The concept, which blends sustainability with architectural lightness, aligns with the company’s commitment to sustainability and responsibility. The exhibition space design prioritized transparency, circularity, and collaboration with sustainable partners, resulting in a significant reduction in CO2 emissions. This recognition highlights the Zumtobel Group’s dedication to sustainability in both its products and exhibition practices, amidst an industry-wide push towards greater environmental consciousness.

(PRESS RELEASE) DORNBIRN, 4-Mar-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — The Zumtobel Group’s corporate philosophy will also be reflected at the world’s largest lighting trade fair, Light + Building, in Frankfurt: The concept of the Vorarlberg-based company’s exhibition space combines aspects of sustainability with “lightness” in architecture. This sustainable concept was awarded the first ever “Sustainable Exhibition Stand” prize by the independent jury of the Designplus Awards by Light + Building. Over one hundred applications were submitted and evaluated: A total of eleven winners were chosen in four categories.

As the globally leading trade fair, Light + Building drives the development of central topics in the lighting industry, including the necessity to increase sustainability. We are pleased to reflect this orientation, among others, with our booth concept as well as our products. And we are all the more pleased that our sustainably designed concept was honoured in the special category ‘Sustainable Exhibition Stand’.

Innovation and responsibility
The world’s leading trade fair for lighting and building technology is committed to innovation and sustainability in its overall orientation – which among other things is reflected by the Designplus Award – and fulfils its responsibility in creating sustainable events. To this end, the “Sustainable Exhibition Stand” award, which honours sustainably designed exhibition stands, was introduced for the first time this year. In addition to the Zumtobel Group’s stand concept, four other concepts received this award. As every year, innovative products, pioneering systems and ideas are also recognised in the Light + Creation PLUS, Sustainability + Efficiency PLUS and Smart + Connectivity PLUS categories. The international and multifaceted entries reflect the range of features at the Light + Building.

The Zumtobel Group’s booth concept: sustainable and light
Transparency, circularity and partner of choice – these three parameters were the guiding principles when designing the booth concept for the Zumtobel Group’s exhibition at the Light + Building 2024. These were inspired by the lighting company’s three strategic sustainability goals. The emissions from the production of the exhibited luminaires, interior and architectural elements were documented transparently. The possibility of reuse or the use of already recycled materials applies to 85% of the exhibition space, which significantly reduces its CO2 footprint. This was achieved by collaborating with all those responsible partners who share the same goal as the Zumtobel Group: operating sustainably.
