Swisscom Launches Switzerland Hosted AI Assistant to Provide Secure Generative AI for Businesses and Public Institutions

(IN BRIEF) Swisscom has launched the Swiss AI Assistant, a Switzerland-based generative AI chatbot designed for secure internal knowledge management. By processing and storing all data domestically and using open-source language models without training on customer information, the solution offers organizations a privacy-focused alternative to public AI tools. The platform is easy to deploy, subscription-based, and part of Swisscom’s wider Swiss AI strategy aimed at delivering sovereign, compliant AI services to businesses and public institutions.

(PRESS RELEASE) BERN, 19-Feb-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Swisscom has introduced the Swiss AI Assistant, a generative AI chatbot designed for internal knowledge management and operated entirely within Switzerland. The solution is intended to give organizations a secure and privacy-compliant way to use modern AI while maintaining full control over sensitive data.

The assistant enables employees to quickly retrieve and work with information stored in company documents, supporting tasks such as answering questions, summarizing material, and drafting text. It is suitable for organizations of various sizes and industries, including small and medium-sized enterprises, public authorities, and highly regulated sectors such as finance and healthcare.

A central feature of the offering is its focus on digital sovereignty. All data is processed and stored exclusively in Swisscom’s domestic data centres, helping organizations meet strict requirements for data protection, compliance, and local data governance. Urs Lehner, Head of Swisscom Business Customers, emphasized that many companies and public institutions are seeking solutions that ensure control over their information, positioning the Swiss AI Assistant as an alternative to publicly available AI services.

The platform runs multiple open-source language models without modifying them or using customer data to train the underlying systems. Additional models are expected to be integrated over time, including the open Swiss large language model Apertus.

Designed for straightforward adoption, the Swiss AI Assistant can be deployed without complex IT projects. Organizations can upload documents, configure the chatbot, and begin using it within a short time, supported by optional user and access management features. The service is available through a flat-rate subscription model, with entry-level packages tailored for smaller teams and a free trial option allowing companies to test the full functionality in their own environment.

The assistant is built on Swisscom’s broader Swiss AI Platform, which provides modular services such as GPU computing resources, model APIs, the AI Work Hub, and the GenAI Studio low-code environment. The launch forms part of Swisscom’s long-term strategy to expand secure, locally operated AI services and address growing demand for solutions that align with national data protection standards.
